In our video essay, created in collaboration with designer and artist Varya Lebedeva, we document ourselves watching Wim Wenders’ Perfect Days. This slow cinema work is particularly well suited for examining the parameter of duration. Within the essay, we explore four dimensions of subjective perception: the film as object, the interspace, the subjects, and the personal space.
These four dimensions are captured through seven cameras. The recording of a shared experience of watching slow cinema reveals a moment that resists verbalization: the moment of approaching the sensation of time.
